Our Debut CD Release Party August 24: Funky-Dangerous Party Music

Gumbo le Funque's first studio album: Funky-Dangerous Party Music

Gumbo le Funque’s first album, “Funky-Dangerous Party Music”

After three years of paying our dues, we’re proud to invite you to our CD release party to celebrate our first-ever studio release, Funky-Dangerous Party Music, to be held on Sunday, August 24, 2014, 7 p.m., at Denver’s premier live music venue, Jazz at Jack’s at the Pavilions at 16th Street Mall in Denver.  You can purchase tickets below.

We played songs, on the air live, from this release on KUVO 89.3 FM in Denver, and songs from the CD, “Jump Out, Run Down the Alley” and “Riff it With it” have been played on the air at KGNU 88.5 FM and KUVO, respectively. These slammin’ 13 songs were recorded at Mighty Fine Studios in Denver, thanks to engineer Mario Casilio (Bill Frisell, Leftover Salmon, the Informants, Conjunto Colores), as well as by Colin Bricker.

Marquee Magazine says, “(f)rom the super horn-heavy openers “Funquey Gumbo” to the sultry soprano sax on “Riff With It” to the melodic, vocally driven “Make It Grow,” Gumbo lays down a party soundtrack that is well played, intoxicating in spirit, and sounds like something that could be spilling out the doors of Tipitina’s on a muggy summer night.”
